You are invited to a training: How can women influence local politics?
🗓 28.10.2026, 5:00-7:00 PM (CET) · online (Teams) · free of charge
The municipal budget. The heat supply plan. The school network. Bus timetables. Waste fees. The renovation of the health clinic.
Someone decides on each of these things - in a specific document, at a specific meeting, by a specific deadline. Usually without us.
In this session we will show how to influence local government:
- who in the municipality really decides - the mayor, the council, committees, municipal companies
- which documents decide about your immediate surroundings and when you can submit comments on them
- tools every resident can use: public consultations, requests for public information, petitions, citizens’ legislative initiatives, speaking at council sessions, participatory budgets, village funds
- how to build lasting influence - a women’s council, a public benefit council, a seat in consultative bodies
- how this works in practice, using energy and heating costs as the example: the most expensive item in a household budget, decided in four municipal documents
You don’t need a council seat, a law degree or experience in local government. You will leave with one concrete issue to take up in your municipality and a plan for the first step.
Hosts: Jolanta Niezgodzka, Member of the Polish Parliament, and Magdalena Rozwadowska (Wrocław University of Economics and Business)
The session lasts 90 minutes.
